Q: I sanded my hardwood oak floors with a slotted drum sander, then put on 2 coats of polyurethane. Now, I see a lot of chatter marks. Should I rent a square random orbital sander to remove these marks?
A: Is it bad enough to warrant basically starting over? Because that is what you are suggesting. You might find applying a very low sheen finish such as matte may tend to hide or at least not accentuate this chatter marks.
Follow-up: Thank you for replying. I never thought of trying to apply a low sheen finish. I will give it a try. Thanks again, you have been very helpful.
