Finishing multiple rooms individually

Q: When finishing multi rooms and wishing to do them individually, what do you do where the rooms join each other? So you don’t have an overlap from one room to the other?

A: You would have a better chance of success if you had to stop along the length of the board and grain. I don’t think it is possible to stop across the boards and across the grain without showing a lap mark. This is why, when I was installing flooring that involved multiple rooms I would suggest to install a ‘header’ in the doorway rather than have the wood flowing straight through from one room to the next, and then leave the decision up to them. So the only suggestion I can make is to carefully mark out the width of a strip of flooring across the doorway and carefully cut out the wood that runs through that. Then apply adhesive and drop in your header board.
