Q: I had my oak floors refinished and requested Glitza, which was used. But between some floor boards where there are gaps the poly didn’t cover fully, so gaps are visible. Should I ask my flooring guy to come back?
These floors are 17 yrs old and I feel the poly should be an even coat protecting the entire floor.
A: Tiny gaps are normal and floor finish is not intended to fill in or make those go away. In fact, it is best it doesn’t. If there was movement in the board the finish would fracture along those gaps and that doesn’t look great.
Your floor is well protected, but it is wood.
