Q: I inadvertently walked on newly applied oil based polyurethane in stocking feet and walked on a recently cured flooring of the same poly and left footmarks. I need some advise on how to economically repair this.
A: Apply painters tape around the edges of the entire boards affected. Lightly with fine sand paper rub out the foot prints, clean up the dust, apply a thin coat of the same finish and remove the tape.
Note from webmaster: I can think of at least two customers that have accidentally done this in recent years, so don’t feel too bad… 😉
