How to fix small, button sized dents

Q: The server fell over and left a few little dents about the size of a small button on our hardwood floor. How can we fix these dents in our hardwood floor?

A: You could try wetting the spot and applying heat over a towel from an iron, but I honestly don’t think this technique can work with floor finish applied. If it is not very large you might simply choose to apply some wood filler. The Color rite line comes in hundreds of colours in tubes. Fill the dent and let it dry.

Similar Q: Can I use an iron on my hardwood floors to draw dents out of the hardwood?

A: Yes. You will need to be very careful with it. I think the idea is to wet the spot first, then apply heat. Not so sure it will work if there is polyurethane or varnish on the floor.
