I don’t want to glue down the treads

Q: I just built a new stair case. Is there any thing I can do besides glueing the treads down? (In case I would ever want to remove them?)

A: I don’t know how they are done now, but the old stair cases had the treads held in place by wedges from the back of the staircase.
