Q: I have sanded my oak flooring to the bare wood. What is the best process for a good finish?
A: I generally screen with 100 grit on a polisher, orbital sand the edges with 80 grit clean up well and either apply a coat of polyurethane initially (gloss) or use a product like Poloplaz Fast Dry Sanding sealer first, which is a fast drying polyurethane. After it dries, lightly abrade, clean well to remove all dust and apply a coat of gloss. Same procedure for last coat, applying the sheen of choice.
