Q: On a new installation of wood flooring what is the minimum gap between boards for raw and pre finished wood?
A: There shouldn’t be any gap between individual boards, though 1/6th would be considered normal contraction during dry periods. A gap should be left around the walls though and for 3/4 flooring should be about 3/4′.
