Q: What would you recommend for cleaning bare wood floors, when the varnish has worn off?
A: If the finish has worn right off, exposing the bare wood, leaving it discolored, the only course to take is to sand to bare wood and refinish.
Similar Q: Once I rip up all the carpet and find the finished wood floors, if are not sealed or urethaned, can I clean them and leave them alone? They are in high traffic areas such as dining and living room, bedrooms, etc.
A: Bare, unfinished wood? What do you think you will clean them with? Wood is porous. My answer would be No.
