Q: Some water leaked from our dishwasher onto the hardwood floor of the kitchen. The water was wiped up almost immediately but now, a few hours later, the hardwood floor feels uneven. The sides of the boards feel as if they are slightly raised.
What can be done to restore the smooth floor?
A: The only thing you can and should do now is let the floor and sub floor fully dry out. A dehumidifier, fan or heater may help, but it is going to take time. Hopefully it will flatten out on it’s own.
