Q: I bought a house with a hardwood floor. How do I tell if it is sealed hardwood?
I need to know what type of cleaner I can use on it.
A: Put a couple of drops of water on the surface. If a mark is left after about 10 minutes, it is likely wax. If not, then likely polyurethane or varnish. Bona Kemi makes a very good cleaner for top coated floors called Bona Pacific floor cleaner. www.bonakemi.com.
