A: It depends on it’s current state and what it was finished with before. A good alternate is for you NOT to sand it, but hire a professional.

Signs floor can't take another sanding?
How can we determine if the floors of our old house can take another sanding? We have no area (i.e. heat register opening) to see the ends of the boards. They are tongue and groove red oak.
