Q: We have oil based polyurethane hard wood floors I have a mid sized dog that has left fine marks from the pads of his feet.
I’ve been told that nothing can be done.
A: How rough are the pads on his feet?:) Are you sure it is not actual impressions into the wood from his nails? Fine surface scratches can be taken care of with periodic buffing and re coating. If there are impressions/depressions in the wood itself, a fresh coat will not get rid of those, but applying a satin or low shine finish may hide them better.
Heels on hardwood
We had a saleswoman come to our house with heeled boots with an exposed tack. We now have over 500 1/4 inch round divots about 1/16 inch deep. The floors were recently refinished! Is there anything I can do about this, or is refinish all I can do?

My pneumatic hardwood floor nailer sometimes leaves unsightly marks my prefinished hardwood when I am nailing it. Is there something I should put over the plate on the nailer that will prevent it from marking the hardwood?

My son had a party in his new home. His wood floors got scratched and dented by high heels in some areas. Is there an easy way to fix this? Would heat from a hair dryer lift the wood?
