Q: I have a question. Should I remove a indoor/outdoor carpet in my basement rumpus room to install a laminated floor? The old carpet is glued to concrete and I think will be not ease to remove it.
The thickness of it is around 1/4″. Can I use it as subflooring instead?
A: No. The carpet has to go. All laminates have a foam pad that is to be laid out, and some produce their own which is mandatory. You would be well to carefully read the manufacturers instructions prior to installation. A very good product comes from Torlys. www.torlys.com.
