Chalky residue, like talc powder on old floor

Q: After pulling up old carpet from an old floor, and cleaning some white / chalky residue that I think might be a little mold with Clorox, the floor dries with a chalky white, talc like substance on top. What do I do to remove it?

A: I’m not sure what the powder is, but I would guess the floor is waxed, which was the general way of finishing an old floor. If this is the case Dura Seal makes a good product for cleaning and rejuvenating waxed finished floors called Renovator.
